Mid-Bummer-Free Summer Update

Photobucket

It’s bummer-free summer for those of you who don’t know. Many of you might be wondering what I have been doing with my summer, and many of you may not care at all. For those of you who do care, I will give you a little mid-bummer-free summer update:

• Embarked upon the goal of attending Bikram yoga 5 times a week. So far, pretty good. With the exception of weeks where I have been out of town, I have gone 5-6 times a week. I’m quite proud of myself and the hard work is starting to pay off. For the first time in my life, I kinda-sorta have abs…well, the beginning of what will be abs. Even Ambs noticed that I am getting a little definition! I have also tricked others into attending with me. Mwahahahahaah! (don’t worry, they were into it too)
• I went on a loverly trip to St. George and Vegas with Ambs. We did lots of shopping and saw Beatles LOVE. It was incredible! We were also remarkably lazy that whole trip; in bed by 10 or 11, sleeping until 9 or 10, laying by the pool, venturing around St. George….it was a fantastic trip!
• I waited for summer to start. For those of you living in Utah, you know that it started raining just after Memorial day and did not stop until the very end of June. I thought for sure Salt Lake had been transplanted to Washington. Basically, we were robbed of 3 weeks of our summer! Hopefully the summer weather will continue 3 weeks into fall to make up for the lost time.
• Went to St. George again…for work. It was a horrid week. I was so happy to come home!
• Mourned the loss of MJ. Many of you may not know, but I am a die hard Michael Jackson fan. I have defended his crazy antics all along. His death was truely sad for me. I found myself listening to his music on my drive home from St. George and recalling all the times in my life that were set to MJ's tunes. The man was a legend and a genius. He shall be missed! (and yes, I cried when I watched his funeral. That little Paris tore me up!)
• Saw my first laser show at the new Planetarium- Dark side of the moon. It was really spectacular. I also made my first trip to Spoon Me that night. It was a’ight. Not sure what all the hype is about though.
• Went camping with my better 2/3rds: Josh and Sarah. I got a sweet new cooler that will keep food cold for 5 days, so if you want to go camping with me for 5 days- I am ready! Keller also came along. This was his first time out of town and he loved it! He ran around like a wild beast, but cried like a little baby if we left him for 30 seconds. Sarah and I made a really good fire and we had my world famous hobo dinners. Really, I make the best hobo dinners. Ask anyone who has been camping with me.
• Spent time at Gma’s pool. Night swimming: check. Saturday lay out: check. Watching fireworks from the pool: check. Skinny dipping:….stay tuned.

Well, those are a few highlights from bummer-free summer. Stay tuned for more wacky times to come!
