Concert Season is Upon Us

I love concerts. There is nothing better than listening to some amazing music and chilling with some cool peeps. I used to go to shows all the time but now that I am an old lady I have been neglecting that part of my life. Soooooooo it's time now to make a list of concerts I would like to attend and attempt to solicit some allies. If you want to go let this girl know!!

Anberlin October 8th @ Salt Air: These dudes are bad-a and can put on an amazing show. You will not be disappointed. (not to mention the eye candy that is Stephen Christian)

The Academy Is... October 25th @ In the Venue: This band is possibly one of the best live performances I have seen and I have seen them more times than I can count. Their new stuff is mediocre, but "Almost There" is on my top 5 favorite albums of all time. And yes I took this pic. It's ok to be impressed with my mad photography skills.

Matt Nathanson November 8th @ Avalon: There is a good chance that whoever goes to this concert with me will see my goodies.

Jason Mraz October 28th @ The E Center: There is a better than good chance that whoever goes to this concert with me will not only see my goodies, but will get lucky at the end of the night. I love Jason Mraz and will pretty much pay someone to go with me. He is probably my #1 celebrity crush and I must see him live!

So how about you guys help a girl out and agree to see some good musicians with me?

Heeeey Brother!

As most of you know I adore my youngest brother Sammy. Not to say I don’t love all my brothers equally, but how can you not laugh at a 7 year old who censors the older kid’s conversations with “beeps” and who whistles and says “hubba-hubba” when he sees a cute girl? Anyhow, Sammy had a tragedy befall him earlier this month. While playing in the backyard with his friend Ethan and his trusty companion/dog Keller there was a bit of an accident. You see, Ethan is afraid of dogs so he had a spray bottle to spray Keller if he came close. Ethan got a little carried away and sprayed too much water on the slide creating a nice slick surface for Sammy to slide down. To hear exactly what happened from the mouth of the victim, watch this:

The poor kid broke his tibia pretty good. He had to be put into a splint for a week before they could cast it and he had a pretty rough time learning to walk on crutches. If you know Sammy then you know that being slow is not in his nature. I was really worried about how this would affect him emotionally, but turns out he is fine with it! To everyone’s surprise he thinks that a broken leg is the best thing to ever happen to him. He has made comments about how he has never received so many gifts in his life and he even asked our Dad if he wishes he would break his leg so that he could “get lots of presents”. Leave it to the greedy 7 year old to figure out that a broken limb is a ticket to new toys.

He has the full cast now (red for the U of U of course!) complete with friends and family signatures and Sammy original drawings. He now moves pretty well with his crutches and can often be seen lifting one crutch up to pretend it is a machine gun to shoot at people. He will have a walking cast in about a month or so and should get the cast taken off for good around December. Check out how cool he looks:

It has finally happened...

I caved boys and girls. I decided it was time for little old me to join the online community and start my very own blog. I resisted for as long as possible but the temptation became more than I could handle. So without further delay I would like to officially welcome all of you in to my oh so exciting little world. Stay tuned for updates.
